U.S. Open of MTB—Dual Slalom Winners

The 2019 U.S. Open of Mountain Biking kicked off the weekend with the spectator-favorite dual slalom event on Friday night.

Racing into the night, Austin “Bubba” Warren upset number one qualifier Kyle Strait to take the Open Men’s slalom victory. Crankworx Innsbruck dual slalom winner Matthew Sterling was able to eliminate DS-favorite Mitch Ropelato to advance and eventually take second-place in finals with Strait taking bronze.

In the women’s category, the ever-fast slalom competitor Jill Kintner conquered all in the Open Women’s category in front of Clare Hamilton in second and Vaea Verbeeck in third.
