Gene leads the BetterRide mountain bike training program. He’s trained thousands of riders in the U.S. and South Africa, including Cody Kelley, Mitch Ropelato, Bryson Martin Sr. and Bryson Martin Junior. Greg Minnaar has even helped lead some of Gene’s training sessions in the past. Bryson Martin Sr. once told MBA, “I didn’t even know how to ride until I took Gene’s course,” and that was after many years of high-level mountain biking.
