TRAIL BUILDING PACKAGE
Bosch eBike Systems has announced a unique mountain biking initiative in tandem with Cannondale and the California Mountain Biking Coalition (CAMTB). The new statewide trail stewardship program, “Can You Dig It?!” will help raise awareness and provide much needed financial support to nonprofit trail riding advocacy groups across California, with the funding being used to bring shovel-ready trail projects to life and underwrite education programs for both Trail Crews and Trail Riding Communities.
In hopes of raising fifty thousand dollars to support the “Can You Dig It?!” initiative, Bosch eBike Systems and Cannondale are hosting a giveaway with CAMTB of an eight thousand dollar grand prize package including a Cannondale Moterra Neo 3 Carbon eBike, Burley Coho XC Trailer, Trail Boss USA hand tool, and a tricked-out Bosch Power Tool Kit. The winner also gets to select one lucky trail advocacy organization to receive a grant to help build and maintain epic trails in their region. For every five dollars donated, entrants will receive one chance to win. The winning ticket will be chosen on October 31 with donations accepted until Oct 30, 2020 at 11:59 p.m. The selected organization must be a recognized 501(c)3 organization or fiscally sponsored 501(c)3 with an established mission that focuses on multi-use trail stewardship.
Bosch proudly supports CAMTB’s ongoing efforts to improve and increase trail access for mountain biking, improvements, and maintenance projects across California. Speaking to this, Steven Sheffield, Bosch’s Team Leader for Business Development says, “Mountain biking relies on the commitment of its community to give back, pick up a shovel, support trail projects and engage in advocacy work. One exciting element of this engagement has been seeing the growing number of trail groups and individuals using eBikes to get even more work done. This was our inspiration to hop on the line with our friends at Cannondale, Burley and Trail Boss to create this ‘ultimate trail work package’ in support of CAMTB.”
Tim Eaton, Sports Marketing and Community Manager at Cannondale, added, “I have seen so many lives transformed in incredible ways because of ebikes. eBikes are amazing tools for fun, utility, and both physical and mental wellness. Being a part of this community effort with Bosch and CAMTB to me means lasting impact in public understanding of what these bikes really are, and leaving a legacy of sustainable trails for our communities to enjoy for many generations.”
“Trails are the lifeblood of our sport and must be properly developed and maintained to support the ecosystems they navigate. Trail advocacy groups enthusiastically do much of this heavy lifting but require resources and tools to bring these projects to life,” said Michael Anzalone, Executive Director at CAMTB. “We see the mountain and eMTB industries as natural partners due, in part, to our shared passion for the trail, but also for their ability to create dependable products that elevate the work of our trails teams.”
Mountain Bike Action is a monthly magazine devoted to all things mountain biking (yes, that’s 12 times a year because we never take a month off of mountain biking). It has been around since 1986 and we’re still having fun.
