World Champion appearance to benefit the Museum! 🚲🏆

Join us the evening of Thursday, March 7, for a special benefit event with mountain biker Kate Courtney, winner of the 2018 Elite XC World Championship. Kate is making this appearance at Marin Museum of Bicycling to help raise funds for the Museum’s expansion project. Kate grew up here in Marin County, enjoying tandem rides on Mt. Tam with her dad. As a high school freshman she joined the mountain bike team, loved the sport, won her first race, and never looked back. Her talent, dedicated training and sheer love of riding have made her the most successful athlete to emerge from NICA High School Mountain Bike racing. She is the first American in 17 years to win an Elite XC World Championship. Kate raced for Specialized Bicycles from 2013 through 2018 and now rides for Scott-SRAM MTB Racing, as a teammate of Nino Schurter, seven-time Men’s XC World Champion. This year, she will be targeting the World Cup series with an eye towards the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
Ticket Details We hope to see you at the museum on Thursday, March 7th. Doors open at 6:15 PM; program starts at 7:00 PM. In Spring 2018, more space behind our main gallery came up for rent. We jumped to get it, because our dreams for the museum have always been big. With more space we’ll be able to extend our display of historic mountain bikes and dedicate an area for rotating exhibits on all aspects of cycling. We’ll improve our storage and research facilities, so we can share more of the amazing items and the archives of the Mountain Bike Hall of Fame, the museum staff and now the MOMBAT archives! To make the new space a reality, we welcome any contributions: the dig-in-your-pockets variety, and the roll-up-your-sleeves kind as well. The museum was built by volunteers and is still entirely volunteer run. As visitors to the museum learn cycling’s vast and impressive history, they see and appreciate its potential. That’s why we created this place and that’s why we’re asking for your participation and support. The Marin Museum of Bicycling is a registered 501(c)(3) educational non-profit.
