The 2021 World Cup Series resumes this weekend, with live coverage of the cross-country and downhill events on Red Bull TV. The XCC (short-track XC) races take place on Friday. The XC races will likely give us a good indication of who will be looking good in the Olympics next month. Note that Thomas Pidcock won’t be racing this event, though, as he’s recovering from a broken collarbone suffered last week when a car him while he was training on his road bike in the French Pyrenees.
If you get a chance to watch the XCC short track races this Friday, you should. MBA’s founding editor, Dean Bradley, and senior editor John Ker have both said that the short-track races at last month’s World Cup rounds were some of the most exciting mountain bike races they’ve ever seen.
