YAMAHA RELEASES NEW 30TH ANNIVERSARY SPECIAL EDITION YDX-MORO 07

Yamaha Power Assist Bicycles produced and sold the world’s first electric assist bicycle back in 1993 and has been making them ever since. To celebrate its 30th anniversary, Yamaha has unveiled a special edition YDX-MORO 07. This limited production model will be available in the USA market starting June 1, 2023, with a suggested retail price of $6,499.

The YDX-MORO 07 features Yamaha’s patented Dual Twin frame with Special Edition polished aluminum finish coat, Yamaha racing blue rocker link, and headtube, as well as a 30th Anniversary 3D badge on the top tube and a commemorative decal on the seat tube.

It incorporates Yamaha’s PW-X3 drive unit with a quad-sensor system for smooth assist delivery in a lighter and more powerful package. Yamaha’s PW-X3 drive unit is its most compact, lightweight, and powerful unit to date. With a maximum torque of 85Nm, the PW-X3 maintains a 250W nominal assist and a 500W maximum assist, allowing for power assistance up to 20 mph. This system offers various assist levels, including ECO, Standard, High, MTB, Extra-Power, Automatic Mode, and Walk Assist. The Automatic Support Mode utilizes the quad sensor system to automatically adjust the assistance level based on riding conditions, enabling riders to focus on the trail without worrying about manual mode changes.

Yamaha produced the world’s first e-bike in 1993 with its Power Assist System (PAS). It had an electric motor that provided a supplementary force nearly equal to that put to the pedals by the rider.

The YDX-MORO 07 Special Edition is equipped with Yamaha’s Interface X control unit, designed to provide riders with easy access to information and settings while keeping their attention on the trail. It features an assist control switch, a minimalistic 3-color LED support-mode level light indicator, Bluetoot connectivity to Garmin Edge 530-830-1030 cycling GPS computers, adjustable LED brightness, and a battery capacity indicator. Yamaha bicycles come with a three-year warranty covering the frame, motor, and battery, while component manufacturers’ warranties are also supported by Yamaha.
