CANFIELD BIKES UNVEILS NEW Ti NIMBLE 9 (UPDATED)

High-end Colorado mountain-bike brand announces titanium version of its immensely popular Nimble 9 hardtail in limited quantities

Lance Canfield competed in the very first Red Bull Rampage in 2001 on a bike that he built for himself. At least one observer at the event thought that Lance rode so well that he should have won the event. That didn’t happen, but what did happen was that Lance continued making bikes and his bikes are now being recognized as some of the most cutting-edge bikes in the world. A few years ago, Lance began promoting the idea that shorter crank lengths would be an improvement for most mountain bike riders. That idea has been steadily catching on ever since. Today, Canfield is announcing that it is now offering a titanium hardtail 29-inch bike with a 150mm-travel fork for those riders who like to get aggressive on hardtail bikes. PONCHA SPRINGS, CO
–Canfield Bikes, high-end boutique mountain bike and component manufacturer, today unveils the Ti Nimble 9, an all-new titanium version of its iconic steel hardtail. Production will be limited to 100 frames and available for pre-order only starting today.
When Lance Canfield set about creating a new version of a bike as beloved as the N9, he was careful to preserve the key geometry, durability and other characteristics that have made it so popular while blending it with the revered ride quality and visual appeal of titanium. The Nimble 9 has been imbued with the suppleness and responsiveness of the new material, but is just as playful and intuitive, ensuring it still lives up to its name. It also tips the scales at a full pound and a half less than its steel counterpart.
“I wanted to take a great bike and make it even better,” said Lance Canfield, owner and designer. “I really wanted to create something special with the Nimble Ti. And after riding it, I can confidently say we’ve done just that.”

with the Nimble Ti.”
-Lance Canfield
The Nimble 9 is a head-turner in titanium with a raw, brushed finish and a combination of sand-blasted and laser-etched logos. The frame is also the first to debut a redesigned Canfield logo. But the Titanium Nimble 9 is as brawny as it is beautiful. It’s crafted from oversized Ti-3AL-2.5V tubing and has been engineered for additional stiffness in crucial areas. Having passed the same extensive testing as other Canfield frames, the Nimble 9 is just as tough in titanium as it is in steel.

“We know our riders and they ride hard,” said Lance. “Just because it’s a Ti hardtail doesn’t mean it’s a wimpy XC bike.”
In addition to receiving minor updates to its namesake’s dialed geometry, the Ti N9 shares its sliding dropouts and all of its component sizing (with the exception of seat-tube diameter) to streamline compatibility and make it even easier for current N9 owners to upgrade and swap builds. Post insertion/internal routing depth has been increased across sizes to accommodate today’s longer travel droppers. The Titanium Nimble 9 is also the first Canfield frame to be offered in XXL sizing.

“Even though our roots are in dual-link suspension, the Nimble 9 hardtail has been one of our most popular bikes since it debuted 14 years ago. There’s a lot of heritage in this bike,” said Lance. “Having just celebrated 25 years in business last year, we wanted to start the new year with something memorable. We’ve had a lot of requests for a Nimble Ti, so I’m really stoked to bring this bike to life. But this is only the beginning. There are a lot of exciting new projects on the horizon in 2025.”

The Canfield Nimble 9 was perhaps the first hardtail to make fun its top priority back in 2011. While things have gotten longer, lower and slacker, the spirit remains the same. Built around aggressive all-mountain geometry and a 150-millimeter fork, the new N9 is a titanium hardtail 29er that strikes the sweet spot between confident descending and zippy, playful handling, yet remains undeterred by steep climbs standing between it and gravity-fed redemption.

Available S, M, L,  XL and XXL. Frame only options start at $3,199.99 and complete bikes start at $5,599.99 with a variety of custom build options from trusted names like Shimano, SRAM, TRP, Fox, RockShox, Hope Tech, DT Swiss and more. Frame and fork bundles are also available.
Only 100 frames will be produced. Orders can be secured with a 50-percent down-payment, but discounted pricing of 10 percent off MSRP is available to those who pay in full.

The Ti Nimble 9 is available for pre-order now at CanfieldBikes.com.
