THE SOUTH CHILCOTINS

This is a photo I took of my dad, Victor Koch, age 62, at the top of the Lick Creek Trail in the South Chilcotin Mountains Provincial Park. We were all pretty tired and happy to be headed downhill at this point after 1500 meters of climbing. This capped off a goal he set to ride five classic Canadian trails when he turned 60 (highlights included Comfortably Numb in Whistler and seven summits in Rossland). It took him three years and four road trips to get them all done, and I couldn’t be more proud of him. Not bad for someone who started riding in his mid-50s.
