Throwback Thursday: One of the Weirdest Bikes We’ve Ever Seen—Crested Butte, Colorado, 2010
Bike designers are always coming up with ideas that are supposed to make their bikes work better. They come up with changes to the frames, the drivetrains, the suspension systems, the wheels and anything else they can imagine changing. Some ideas work and others don’t. We shot photos of this guy riding this bike in the Chainless Downhill Race at the Crested Butte Fat Tire Festival in 2010. We don’t know how well this bike handled, but it looked like the rider was having a good time riding it, and that’s one sign that he succeeded in his design . In any event, it was one of the craziest and most creative bike frames we’ve ever seen.
