VOLER FLYBY HOODIE JACKET REVIEW

Tech features:

This made-in-the-USA jacket has front and back panels constructed from Voler’s Stratus fabric for wind protection. It features a lined three-piece hood designed to provide comfortable protection and easily fit under a helmet. The sub-200-gram Voler Flyby Hoodie is designed to block the wind and cold, while a thoracic vent, spanning vertically from shoulder to shoulder, enhances airflow while riding.

The jacket incorporates a dual-slide Vislon zipper, allowing for dual-directional zipping and on-the-fly airflow and temperature control adjustments. Additionally, it features dual internal pockets, including one that can double as a stuff sack for the entire jacket. It comes in black and stonewash colors.

Field test results:

This lightweight jacket is ideal for those times where temperatures start cold but rise rapidly because of its stowability. This also makes it great to have along for rides when temperatures fall unexpectedly. It’s warm enough to block cool air but doesn’t have any insulating properties, so layers must be worn underneath to truly be comfortable under 50 degrees unless the pace is race fast.

Mesh side panels help with ventilation and moisture management, but most of it comes from the front zipper adjustments. The hood is really nice to have, but since it’s designed to be worn under the helmet, those who prefer it over added ventilation and comfort wished it was bigger.

Overall fit is great on the bike, and sleeve length was adequate even for our long-armed testers. The cut is comfortable and great on the bike, but a few test riders thought that a lack of flexibility in the Stratus material affected overall comfort.
