Photo of the Day: Catalina Island

The fourth annual Catalina Island Gran Fondo is scheduled for next Saturday, on May 16th. It’s an event that riders will remember for a long time. After the spectacular boat ride to the island, watching the dolphins that swim and jump alongside the boat, riders get to sightsee in the beautiful town of Avalon before they head out of town en masse to ride on the empty roads of the island as well as sections of singletrack, which are opened to mountain bikers for this event. The riding offers spectacular views of the ocean, the island’s coastline, and the beautiful, uninhabited interior of the remarkable island located some 26 miles off the coast of Southern California.
