SOC18 – New Continental Mountain King Tires
There are several new tires here at Sea Otter, including Continental’s revised Mountain King. The Mountain King has been one of their main trail tires for several years with a German design and construction.
Continental introduced the Mountain King this week with a new tread pattern designed to use their proprietary Black Chili Compound for added traction. The Black Chili compound is found in many of Continental’s tires.
The Mountain King has a new bead and sidewall design for better sealing and increased durability. With rim widths going wider, Continental printed the range of internal widths that the Mountain King was designed for on the sidewall, along with recommended PSI.
For 2018 the Mountain King is available in three sizes: 26, 27.5, and 29 with a retail price of $69 for the 27.5×2.3 shown.
