Throwback Thursday: Sailing High With Stu Thomsen
Former BMX legend Stu Thomsen was also a great mountain biker
Stu Thomsen was considered one of the greatest BMX racers of all time when he was racing in the 1970s and 1980s. In the late 1980s, he also started racing downhill on rigid mountain bikes and was one of the top racers at Mammoth Mountain, California, when he did that. We met up with Stu in the early 1990s to get some photos of him showing his skills on his mountain bike. This was one of our best images from a photoshoot that MBA’s John Ker did with Stuart in 1992.
