All-New Hutchinson Python2

Almost twenty years after the launch of the first Python, Hutchinson has launched the Python 2.  The aim of the new design was to retain the tire’s recognized qualities while incorporating into it technology recently developed by Hutchinson’s engineers.  With its new design and new rubber, the Python 2 looks ready to race.

New Features:

  • Pistol knobs: they’re back on the Python 2 and add a transitional knob arm that extends from the lateral knobs up to the center knobs insuring constant grip regardless of the tire angle on the trail.
  • Knob support : New on the Python 2, the center knobs are supported by the third compound, making them extra resilient.
  • Re-worked knobs : reduced height to improve speed and the central knobs bevelled for safer, cleaner braking on more technical sections.
  • New rubber : (TL Ready models fitted with a 127 TPI High Density carcase in XC or 2×66 in End): Hutchinson has used the same type of construction that it used on the Taipan: a three-rubber construction with a harder rubber for the structure to ensure that the tyre maintains the right shape, an intermediate rubber on the tread to increase efficiency and a softer rubber on the outside to provide grip.
