FIRST LOOK: YT DIRTLOVE CORE 1 – SPEC’D TO SHRED

YT's new Core 1 Dirt Love is an affordable machine with a stout parts spec

YT’S NEW CORE 1 DIRTLOVE

YT started 15 years ago in the founder Markus Flossmann’s garage with 150 dirt jump bikes. Since then YT has been a top authority in freeride mountain biking around the world. With this new Core 1 build, YT is hoping to get riders who maybe can’t afford a top-spec bike but still wants to get out and shred.

SIMPLE YET EFFECTIVE

The Core 1 dirt jump frame is the same chromoly frame as you would get with the Core 2 version, just painted a different color. YT’s goal with this bike was to keep it as light as they could for performance but also have all the parts able to stand up to the heavy abuse dirt jumpers are typically subjected to. Some standout features include the Manitou Circus Expert fork, SRAM Level TL brake, and the SRAM DUB BB attached to a 165mm SRAM X1 crankset. It also comes with a burley half-link chain, Maxxis tires, a Race Face Chester bar and stem, and an SDG pivotal saddle and seatpost. We really like the fact that the frame includes integrated chain tensioners as that can be one of the biggest struggles when working on a dirt jumper. This frame also comes in two sizes, Regular and Long. This allows YT to appeal to a larger variety of people interested in getting into dirt jumping. Overall this bike looks to be like a great value and well worth some consideration when buying your next dirt jumper.

One of our favorite inclusions in the Dirt Love frame is the integrated chain tensioners which take the guess-work out of mounting the rear wheel.
